Tecktonik – It’s official I’ve been around the block!
I’ve recently been made aware by my partner of a dance craze sweeping the clubs of paris -- Tecktonik. Apparently a mix of several earlier dance styles (most obviously Voguing as populised by Madonna) and, according to the wikipedia entry, is the first dance style to become trademarked. Apparently, the popularity of the dance has spread through media such a YouTube. So why post this? A) I realise I’ve been around the block, the first time I saw this I thought -- isn’t that just Voguing? B) My second thought was, oh shit -- back come the batwing jumpers (I had a wonderful grey and black one from C&A when we still had the in the UK… and finally, C) I find it hilarous to watch - the dance resembles having a seizure whilst glued to the top of a spin dryer on a 1600 spin! Take a look for yourself and ask yourself why ….. Oh and BTW, I’ll be in Paris in Decmeber 2008, I may try it myself -- watch this space…
Unveil yourself you anonymous commentator! With music it looks just as silly in my book!

the funniest thing… with music it’s quite ok… but imagine… these guys did it without the music in the background… no wonder everyone thinks they went coo-cooo
